Inspection & Closeout Requirements

How to pass inspections and reach final — from rough to CO.

Permitting doesn’t end at issuance. Closeout requires the right inspections, sequencing, documents, and final sign-offs — and every AHJ handles it differently. This section centralizes inspection and closeout rules so users can plan work correctly, schedule the right inspections, and avoid last-minute surprises at final.

It supports the full lifecycle: initial inspection scheduling standards through final authorization such as Certificate of Occupancy (CO) or final completion approval (as applicable).

Inspection types, sequencing expectations, and common prerequisites (e.g., documents on file, contractor registration, fees paid)

Scheduling rules and lead times (online scheduling, phone/email requests, required windows, cancellations/reschedules)

Closeout documents and final requirements (as-builts, test reports, affidavits, engineer letters, lien releases where required)

Final authorization pathways (CO / TCO / final inspection approval) and typical closeout blockers

Result

fewer failed inspections, fewer stop-start delays, and smoother closeouts across jurisdictions.
